Lately Landjäger released its latest issue. And finally I made it to one of the release parties in Austria. It was good to see you guys! For the topic “neighbours” I interviewed some of mine about the people who live on the other side of their walls and did some drawings. During the work on this issue some happy news arrived: The two latest Landjäger Magazines won the bronze medal at the European Design Awards.

Novum’s current issue – a bilingual graphic and design mag (German/English) – is dedicated to the topic of freelancing. For them I gave a four-pages-interview in which we discussed selfemployment, which risks and opportunities it holds and – of course – we talked about illustration.

Do you remember when we anounced a new series of Shake Your Tree mgazines? Since then lots of things have happened – meeting, drawing, cooking, meeting, eating, calculating, writing – all together with many motivated and inspiring people. And now, finally, we are screen printing. Whilst you are watching the World Cup we are standing in the SDW in Neukölln, day and night, always together with our screen printer Louise Drubigny. The new handmade zines look amazing. Put the release party date 31st July in your diary and listen out for rumors.

The summer term in Würzburg has almost come to an end. It’s presentation time and I am happy to see the results of this term’s drawing sessions. Over the last few months we had enough sunny days to leave the lecture room and do some location drawing. We went into the woods, to  stone quarry, harbour, a busy market square and more. Besides we visited the International Comic Salon in Erlangen for some impressive original artworks and exhibitions as well as loads of comic books. Thanks for a really nice term, guys.
